In this post, I’d like the opportunity to walk you through the ins and out’s of where I’ve begun my journey to a healthy balance between being a wife, mom, caregiver, church leader, and business owner. As well as some of the things I’ve used to aid in my process.
Let’s begin!
What does a balanced life look like?
A balanced life is the ability to live peacefully while considering all aspects of life. Work, play, parenthood, fitness, health, finances, religion, free time, and relaxation. Find joy amongst the chaos. Remember to give yourself grace while trying to find your specific balance. There are plenty of ways we can help you find what works best for you.
How do you acquire and maintain balance in your life?
Developing a flexible routine can be a key factor in maintaining balance. We tend to lean toward being creatures of habit or getting stuck in our ways, as well as becoming complacent in the mundane parts of life. Schedules are good for some of us and seemingly unattainable for others. Using physical planners, journals and calendars can have a sense of grounding for us. Apps are helpful, useful, and convenient but holding a notebook, journal or planner can bring us back to reality.
What are the benefits and importance of a balanced life?
The benefits and importance of learning to live and fulfill a balanced life are to be healthy in mind, body, spirit, and soul. Our brains control our bodies but we must take initiative in keeping our thoughts calm, cool, and collected. To create new habits and recreate our thought processes we must begin with an open mind and a desire to redesign what we have learned in our “fight or flight” survival mode. Making plans for the future can be fun and good pass time but in reality, they can cause us a bit of anxiety. I’m not saying we can’t think of, hope for, or intend on future events, vacations, or things of that sort. I’m simply implying to keep our goals realistic and attainable. The less stress, the better. Remember that we only have control of our thoughts, feelings, and reactions.
